Release Of Modi Biopic Has Been Delayed Till End Of Election, Orders EC of India

Many Opposition parties filed their plea into the court. On this case, first hearing held on Indore bench at Madhya Pradesh High Court, After getting rejected from there. A new appeal filed to the Supreme Court. On Tuesday, The Supreme Court refused to hold the release of ‘PM Narendra Modi’ which is a biopic on the Prime Minister, saying the Election Commission is a suitable panel to decide whether the film violates Model Code of Conduct.

Before the film was slated to release on 5, then April 11 and now not in the near future.

Any such film that subserves purpose of any political entity or individual should not be displayed in the electronic media, says Election commission.

“The Election Commission of India today issued an order prohibiting display in electronic media including cinematograph of any biopic material in the nature of biography/hagiography sub-serving the purposes of any political entity or any individual entity connected to it,” said a statement.

Well, this is good news for opposition party as they were claiming this movie to propaganda has now its releases has been suspended till the election.
