The most important is, trees are necessary for rain. Trees create a cold and humid atmosphere required for rain. Second, when it rains, trees hold the water and does not allow to pass over the soil which avoids floods. Third, they provide food to all of the livings.
If we continue to cut the tree at a larger extent then, it will definitely affect the rainfall and also will create an unstable atmosphere which will lend to destruction on/of earth. When we cut down trees, we are taking a home away from animals. Trees cause shade and without that shade, the ground dries up faster and there are not as many nutrients.
And, growing more and more trees and cutting on pollution is the only way out to save our ecosystem. And, this has been ingrained in us since childhood.
But how many saplings have you ever planted? There are many governments, which are not seriously concerned for this, however, there’re few who sets an example, like Philipines – New Philippines Law Needs Every Student To Plant 10 Trees If They Want To Graduate. Something same law which Kerala has to begin.
The municipality of the town has made it mandatory that every housing compound should have at least two trees. It is a pre-requisite to getting your house registered! The absence of trees in your compound shall mean there’s no registration for you!
According to the scheme, anybody who plans to build a house in the town should plant two trees like mango or jackfruit in the compound, the report of TNM. Once the construction is completed, a team of officers examine the well-being of the tree and approve the registration only when the trees are taken care of properly.
The rule is applicable for all the houses that are more than 1,500 square feet or are built in an area of fewer than 8 cents. Kodungallur is reportedly the very first municipal body to take such a step to ensure greenery in the town.
We are the people who happen to be alive at the moment when our choices will determine the future for tens of thousands of years: how high the seas will rise, how far the deserts will spread, how fast the forests will burn. Part of our work must be to protect the future. Plant as many as trees as possible!
